Sistas Academy of Cosmetology - Learn to Earn Program
Learn to Earn Program Requirements
You must submit the following in order to qualify for the Learn to Earn Program.
1. A completed application along with the $50.00 application fee.
2. High school transcript
3. A 500 word essay on why you want to become a Cosmetologist.
4. A letter of recommendation from an instructor, clergy or person that has known you for 3 years or more. This can not be an immediate family member.
After we receive your completed application and fee. We will schedule you for an interview.
Once accepted into the program you must:
1. Purchase your cosmetology textbooks. You are required to pay $250.00 prior to the start of class. The balance of $300 must be paid within 3 months.
2. Purchase your student kit. There is a $250 non refundable deposit required to order your kit. This deposit is due prior to the start of class. The total cost of the student kit is $800.00. The second and third portion of your kit must be paid for before each session begins.
3. Complete your scheduled hours.
4. Maintain a B+ average.
5. Do salon/community service as directed by the Academy.
6. Work on a certain number of clients per week. .
7. You must bring in your family and friends to work on
8. Complete daily manikin assignments.
9. Pay $4,575.00 which covers books and fees. This must be paid before you graduate from the program.
10. Comply with all of the school rules and regulations as outlined in the school handout.
Program Hours
Cosmetology program 1500 hours - 37.5 hours for 40 weeks. Student responsible for the full cost of the program. Part time 28 hours for 54 weeks or 19 hours for 80 weeks.
Learn to Earn program - 2250 hours - The full time program can be completed in 45 for 50 weeks or 37.5 for 60 weeks depending on the schedule chosen. Part time - 22.5 for 100 weeks / 19 hours for 120 weeks. Student are responsible for application fee, student kit, books, manikins, registration and workshop fees. The grant covers the cost of tuition only.
For both programs students are required to attend 3 evening workshops a month.
